SECRETARY GENERAL YANG JUN MEETS WITH ALEXEY OGNEV, ACTING RECTOR OF SAKHALIN STATE UNIVERSITY

On April 13, 2026, Mr. Yang Jun, Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Alexey Ognev, Acting Rector of Sakhalin State University, Russia. The two sides held discussions on advancing China–Russia educational and people-to-people exchanges and expanding inter-university cooperation.
Yang Jun briefed Rector Ognev on CEAIE’s recent achievements in promoting educational exchanges with Russia and building platforms for institutional collaboration between universities in China and Russia. He noted that 2026-2027 marks the China-Russia Years of Education, presenting significant opportunities for bilateral cooperation in education and cultural exchange. CEAIE stands ready to continue serving as a bridge, helping Russian institutions connect with Chinese universities and educational resources. It will support Sakhalin State University in developing practical cooperation with Chinese partners. Yang also extended an invitation for Sakhalin State University to attend the 27th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education.
Rector Ognev introduced the university’s running status and internationalization strategy. As a key university in the Far East of Russia, the institution has notable strengths in oil and gas technology, engineering education, and teacher training, with strong complementarities with Chinese universities. He emphasized that the university attaches great importance to cooperation with China and looks forward to leveraging CEAIE’s platform to advance student mobility and youth exchanges between the two countries.
