SECRETARY GENERAL YANG JUN MEETS WITH DELEGATION FROM THE BELT AND ROAD INSTITUTE, SERBIA

On March 31, Mr. Yang Jun, Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Prof. Bojan Lalić, Deputy Chair of China-Central Eastern Countries Higher Education Institutions Consortium (CCHEIC) European Secretariat and Director of National Belt and Road Institute, Serbia. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on educational cooperation between China and Serbia, as well as broader collaboration between China and Central and Eastern European countries(CEEC).
Mr. Yang expressed his sincere appreciation for the University of Novi Sad’s long-standing support of CEAIE’s initiatives, especially its contribution to the CCHEIC as the European Secretariat. He emphasized the hope to expand cooperation in providing more opportunities and platforms for Chinese and CEEC’s universities under the CCHEIC framework in such areas as dual degree programs and exchanges for faculty and student, etc. He extended invitation to the University of Novi Sad to participate in the 27th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE).
Prof. Bojan Lalić reviewed the efforts made by the University of Novi Sad in jointly building CCHEIC. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to maintaining closer ties with CEAIE and pledged to leverage the role of the CCHEIC European Secretariat to make new contributions to China-CEEC educational exchange.
Prof. Nemanja Kašiković, Chairman of the University of the Novi Sad, Serbia, participated in the meeting.
Founded in September 2014, CCHEIC serves as a premier platform for educational cooperation between Chinese and CEEC’s universities. As of now, it has 371 member institutions. The Chinese Secretariat is set in CEAIE and the European Secretariat rotates. The University of Novi Sad, Serbia, currently hosts the European Secretariat for the 2026–2028 term.
