At the invitation of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), the Zhi-Xing China-STEM Education Leaders Delegation visited Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen from June 18th to 28th, 2025. They held in-depth exchanges with Chinese universities, primary and secondary schools, and related educational institutions, and attended the China-US STEM and AI Education Seminar. On June 27th, Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, attended the closing event and had a cordial discussion with the delegation members.
During their stay in Shanghai, the delegation visited schools and institutions such as Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy, Shanghai Weiyu High School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China Normal University, and the Teacher Education Centre under the auspices of UNESCO. Through seminars, laboratory visits, and teaching achievements appreciation, they gained further insights into China’s STEM education practices at the secondary school level, international teacher training, and frontier research in relevant fields.
On June 23rd, the China-US STEM and AI Education Seminar was held in Hangzhou. Representatives from both countries shared experiences and interacted on topics such as the current situation and practical cases in related fields, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. Subsequently, the delegation visited institutions including Hangzhou Tianchang Guanchao Primary School, Hangzhou Chongwen Future School, and Westlake University, deepening their understanding of STEM education enlightenment at primary schools and STEM talent cultivation in higher education.
In Shenzhen, the delegation visited Southern University of Science and Technology and Shenzhen Foreign Language School, among other institutions. They held discussions with representatives from Chinese universities and secondary schools on engineering education, academic competitions, and STEM education models at different stages, sharing valuable experiences in talent development.
Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, expressed the hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to promote more cooperation between China and the U.S. in STEM education through seminars, teacher and student exchanges, and other forms, cultivating a new generation of young talents and helping jointly address global challenges. Under President Xi Jinping’s initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study over the next five years, CEAIE will invite more American youth to visit China, facilitating mutual learning and nurturing a new force dedicated to China-US friendship.
Delegation members remarked that this visit opened a window for them to better understand Chinese education. They expressed willingness to work with their Chinese counterparts to establish dialogue platforms and implement both short- and long-term exchange programs, creating more opportunities for American teachers and students to learn about and experience China. They also expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with China in STEM education and talent development, contributing positively to advancing China-US educational collaboration and exchanges.
