On June 13, Yang Jun, Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Professor Sharon Pickering, Vice-Chancellor and President of Monash University. The two sides engaged in friendly and in-depth discussions on areas including cooperation in high-level talent development.
Yang Jun reviewed the cooperation histories between CEAIE and Monash University, expressed his gratitude to Monash University for its strong support during the CEAIE delegation's visit to Australia last year. He encouraged Monash University to participate in CEAIE's programmes, such as the "Australia-China Early-Career Researcher Fellows Programme" and the "Australia-China University Leaders Dialogue", which aim to strengthen bilateral research collaboration and information exchange. He also extended an invitation to Professor Pickering to attend the 26th China Annual Conference for International Education.
Professor Pickering expressed appreciation for CEAIE’s efforts to promote the Australia-China educational cooperation, and affirmed Monash University’s willingness to participation in CEAIE initiatives, including the "Australia-China University Leaders Dialogue", and to receive the Chinese early-career researchers.
Both parties agreed to further promote personnel exchanges and joint development of students cultivation.
