On July 28, the
2025 Zhi-Xing China: U.S.-China University Student Leaders Academy and LEAP Global Summer Program successfully concluded at Zhejiang University International Campus. Twenty three students from the United States, Italy, Germany, and Hungary, together with ten students from Zhejiang University, presented on topics such as tea culture, intangible cultural heritage, fin-tech development, and creative cultural industries in groups. Each group also screened short video titled China Through My Eyes and shared reflections, marking a close to the 17-day program.
Voices of Youth: One Journey, Lifelong Impact
Isabella (United States) pointed out that what impressed her most about the program was how incredibly packed it was - they experienced so many diverse activities in just two weeks. From visiting cultural landmarks to exploring different cities, from engaging seminar sessions to immersive cultural experiences, everything was so thoughtfully arranged within such a short time. It was truly remarkable. She feels deeply grateful, as it is rare to have such a rewarding and meaningful experience.
Leon (Germany) also concluded that the best way to understand China and break down biases is to come here in person - to see it with your own eyes, experience its culture firsthand, and connect with its people. You can learn about China's history, experience its traditions, and observe how locals live. Ultimately, when you step outside your own country and engage with a foreign culture, your mindset becomes more open. This openness and inclusiveness is exactly what our world needs today - it can help prevent many conflicts.
At the closing ceremony on July 28, representatives from the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and Zhejiang University International Campus congratulated the students on successfully completing the program. They emphasized that the project was not only a journey of knowledge and cultural exploration but also a valuable practice in cross-cultural dialogue and exchange. They encouraged students to share authentic “China stories,” act as youth ambassadors, and transform their learning into bridges of mutual respect and cooperation.
