The closing ceremony of the 6th Zhi-Xing China: U.S.-China Academic Impact Program took place on July 16, 2024. Ms. FU Bo, Deputy Secretary-General attended the event.

The fellows of the program shared their observations and findings through the 10 days' visit in Shanghai, Beijing, Changshu and Luoyang. Amazed by China's fast-changing modern cityscape and convenient transportation, they have witnessed the tremendous achievements made by Chinese universities and K-12 schools in internationalization and comprehensive development. They also felt the Chinese side's strong enthusiasm for strengthening in-depth educational exchange and cooperation with the U.S. partners. The fellows agreed on that the relationship between China and the United States is not only the relationship between the two countries, but also the relationship between the two peoples. Only by moving forward and understanding each other, can people in the two countries build mutual trust and friendship.

FU Bo expressed her warm congratulations to the fellows on their successful completion of the program. With their Zhi-Xing China discoveries, she delivered her expectation for the delegations to bring back the achievements of the trip, to share with their colleagues in the U.S. She also introduced the “Young Envoys Scholarship” (YES) program which was chiefly implemented by CEAIE, encouraging the fellows to invite more American young people to come to China for exchange and study.

Organized by CEAIE, the Zhi-Xing China Fellowships is a significant outcome of the 5th China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange. Since 2015, CEAIE has been inviting experts, scholars and academic leaders in the U.S. to visit China annually for in-depth exchanges. Through traveling and experiencing China, and engaging in dialogues with Chinese experts, practitioners, and common people, fellows could gain a comprehensive understanding of China from both historical and contemporary perspectives. In July 2024, 7 U.S. fellows came to China for fellowship.
