From 27 to 29 July 2016, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) participated in the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Centre Directors’ Meeting (CDM) held in Bangkok, Thailand. There were more than 90 participants, including SEAMEO Secretariat, directors and officials of the SEAMEO Centres, representatives of SEAMEO Associate Members, Affiliate Members, Partners and Observers from Australia, Germany, China, Japan, Cambodia, Indonesia and Lao PDR. CEAIE attended the meeting on invitation as one of the associate members of SEAMEO.
During the meeting, the CEAIE representative briefed on CEAIE’s updated activities, including events to be organized during the 9th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) in Guiyang. Productive discussions were also held with several Regional Centres, namely Higher Education and Development (RIHED), Regional Centre for Lifelong Learning (CELLL), and Vocational and Technical Education (VOCTECH). CEAIE proposed future collaborations with SEAMEO members.
The representatives expressed their willingness to collaborate with CEAIE and its member institutions on more projects, and to jointly promote educational development in both China and Southeast Asia countries.
