On August 8, the 2023-2024 Japanese Language Teachers Training Program successfully concluded. 23 Japanese language teachers from Chinese universities who were in Japan for in-person training shared their training outcomes and reflections at the closing event in Beijing.
Jointly organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), The Sasakawa Peace Foundation and Beijing Foreign Studies University since 2022, the program aims to promote China-Japan educational exchanges and cooperation, and to improve the professional competency of Japanese language teachers in Chinese universities. For the 2023-2024 program, 100 Japanese language teachers from 97 Chinese universities and colleges participated, and 23 excellent representatives of them visited Japan for one-month intensive training.
At the closing event, the teachers shared their achievements and findings. It is agreed that this training not only improves their linguistic competence, but also brings new inspiration and far-reaching impact on their future teaching career. In particular, the curriculum and in-class courses on digital transformation of education and how to tackle with challenges brought by artificial intelligence to language teaching are very practical. The teachers highly appreciate the efforts and organization by CEAIE and the other two organizations.
CEAIE will continue to provide platforms and resources for Chinese higher education community to improve the faculties’ capacity building and the teaching quality.
