An Yan Meets with Delegation from Sheridan College, Canada

On April 11th, Ms. An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Ms. Mary Vaughan, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Sheridan College, Canada, and Mr. Jason Rolls, Vice President of the World TVET League (WTL) and Assistant Vice President at Sheridan College. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the development of WTL, industry-education integration in vocational education, and the convergence of vocational and academic education.
An Yan introduced CEAIE’s collaboration with Canada in the field of vocational education, as well as the development plans and key priorities of WTL for this year. She suggested that both parties work together to promote information sharing among members of WTL and encouraged Sheridan College to actively publicize WTL in Canada and North America, contributing to the development of WTL.
Ms. Vaughan and Mr. Rolls highly praised China’s leadership role in global governance of vocational education. They introduced the distinctive characteristics of Canada’s industry-oriented vocational education system and expressed their full support for WTL. They also expressed their willingness to promote cooperation between Chinese and Canadian institutions within the framework of WTL.
