On September 15, 2025, the Victoria-China Education Dialogue was successfully held in Beijing. Dr. Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and the Hon. Jacinta Allan MP, Premier of Victoria, Australia, attended the event and delivered speeches. Mr. Yang Jun, Vice President and Secretary General of CEAIE, chaired the event. Around 80 representatives from universities, vocational colleges, and educational institutions from both sides participated.

President Liu highlighted that the meeting between heads of China and Australia in July laid a solid foundation for deepening ties, especially in education. He noted Victoria’s long-standing cooperation with China and emphasized education as a bridge for cultural exchange and future collaboration.

Premier Allan gave positive comments on China’s educational development and reaffirmed Victoria’s commitment to partnership. She announced the resumption of the Hamer Scholarships to support Australian students in six-month immersive study programs in China, while welcoming more Chinese students and educators to Victoria.

A MoU signing ceremony witnessed by President Liu and Premier Allan formalized new cooperation agreements between institutions in both countries, including CEAIE and Federation University, Beijing Polytechnic and Federation University, Beijing Union University and La Trobe University, Shanghai Food Science and Technology School and Sunraysia Institute of TAFE, as well as Nanjing Commercial College and Sunraysia Institute of TAFE.

University and college representatives shared outcomes of their cooperation and discussed future collaboration. Concluding the dialogue, Mr. Yang Jun said the agreements signed reflect the determination of both sides to deepen cooperation and deliver tangible results. He emphasized that CEAIE will continue working with the Victorian government and Australian institutions to ensure steady and long-term progress in educational cooperation.
