Deputy Secretary-General Yu Yang Meets with Deputy Vice President of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations

April 22, 2026, Yu Yang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Mr. Jonathan Lowet, Deputy Vice President of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR). The two sides exchanged views on deepening U.S.-China educational exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the younger generations of both countries.

Mr. Yu Yang briefed the progress CEAIE has made in recent years in promoting youth exchanges between China and the U.S., with a special focus on the encouraging outcomes of the "Young Envoys Scholarship" (YES Program). He emphasized that CEAIE values its cooperation with U.S. partners, including NCUSCR, and stands ready to jointly promote the healthy development of bilateral educational exchanges and people-to-people connections. He extended an invitation to NCUSCR to attend the 27th China Annual Conference and Expo for International Education (CACIE) in China this upcoming October.
Mr. Jonathan Lowet reviewed the long history of cooperation between NCUSCR and CEAIE, and shared preliminary considerations for future youth exchange activities. He expressed hope that the two organizations would continue to work together, building on existing experiences while exploring new possibilities to enrich the joint collaboration,for mutual understanding between the next generations of the United States and China.
