The 2024 China-Russia University Students Art Festival Successfully Concludes
On December 3, the 2024 China-Russia University Students Art Festival, co-organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and St. Petersburg State University of Economics, held its awards ceremony and gala concert in Moscow, Russia. The event invited university students from China and Russia to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries through diverse art forms such as singing, dancing, instrumental performances, and poetry recitations.
Video addresses were delivered by Liu Limin, President of CEAIE Xi Ru, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Chinese Ministry of Education Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Tatyana Urzhumtseva, Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Minister-Counselor Cao Shihai from the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Nina Kozlovtseva, Vice-Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation attended the offline events in Moscow.
Liu Limin encouraged Chinese and Russian youth to leverage the festival as a platform to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and spark creativity. He expressed his hope that students would grow and thrive through cultural interactions, contributing their youthful energy to the continued advancement of China-Russia relations.
The gala concert featured 20 performances presented in a hybrid format by 10 Chinese universities and 10 Russian universities, including recitations of classic Russian poetry by Chinese students and innovative performances of Chinese songs by Russian students, etc. Collaborative performances by Chinese and Russian students showcased their diverse talents and delivered an exceptional cultural and artistic experience.
Since its inception in 2003, the China-Russia University Students Art Festival has been warmly embraced by university students in both countries. With its rich and diverse content and dynamic formats, the festival vividly illustrates the profound cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and Russia. It has become a key institutional event for youth interactions and a flagship initiative for educational and cultural exchanges, symbolizing the close partnership between the two nations.
