PRESIDENT LIU LIMIN MEETS WITH FORMER SECRETARY-GENERAL OF JAPANESE LDP

On June 25, Dr. Liu Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, the former Secretary-General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the TOA Institution.



President Liu Limin warmly welcomed Mr. Takebe Tsutomu and the delegation, and acknowledged the contributions Mr. Takebe Tsutomu and the TOA Institution have made to China-Japan educational and youth exchanges over the years. He also expressed CEAIE’s willingness to promote people-to-people exchanges and to further deepen bilateral educational cooperation and dialogue between China and Japan, for the consolidated foundation of public opinions for long-term friendly relations between the two countries.

Mr. Takebe Tsutomu expressed that Japan-China friendship is rooted in people, and the future lies in the hands of the youth. The leaders of China and Japan have continuously emphasized the importance of youth exchanges and reached a consensus on related activities. In the future, his team will work closely with CEAIE to jointly cultivate the young generation who are committed to the friendship between China and Japan through study trips and other activities.

The two sides exchanged views on youth exchanges between the two countries, cultivation of international talents, and high-quality development of education. A strong commitment to furthering educational collaboration was mutually agreed.

The meeting was attended by Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, Nagasawa Kaoru, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the TOA Institution, and Nago Manabu, Counsellor of the Information and Culture Centre of Japanese Embassy in China.
