Marking a major milestone in China-Turkmenistan practical cooperation, the Turkmenistan Luban Workshop was officially inaugurated on April 16 in Ashgabat.

Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered remarks at the unveiling ceremony. Following the ceremony, he toured the training facilities and observed demonstration classes featuring practice-oriented instruction and the integration of industry standards into teaching.

Serving as a key landmark of bilateral cooperation in vocational education and skilled talent development, the establishment of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan is an important consensus reached by the heads of state of China and Turkmenistan, as well as a major outcome of the first China-Central Asia Summit.

As one of the cooperative partners, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) fully underpinned the whole process of the project, including preliminary coordination, partnership facilitation, agreement signing, quality assurance, and project recognition. In collaboration with the Luban Workshop Construction Alliance and partner institutions, CEAIE strives to promote the sound development of Luban Workshops and sustains the high-quality and long-term operation.

As the 38th Luban Workshop worldwide, this Workshop is jointly built by Xi’an Shiyou University of China, Hebei Petroleum University of Technology of China, and Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University of Turkmenistan. Closely tailoring talent training to Turkmenistan’s strategic development priorities in the energy sector, it will offer specialized programs in Geological Resources Exploration and Information Systems and Technology and advance high-quality cooperation through joint curriculum design, teacher exchanges and practical vocational skills training.

To date, Luban Workshops have been launched in over 30 countries across the globe. They have evolved into vital platforms for vocational skill training, technical exchanges and people-to-people and cultural bonds between China and partner nations.
