SECRETARY GENERAL YANG JUN ATTENDS THE 1ST CROSS-BORDER HIGHER EDUCATION INNOVATION FORUM OF THE 2026 WORLDWIDE EDUCATORS CONFERENCE

On August 21, Mr. Yang Jun, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), attended and delivered a keynote speech at The 1st Cross-border Higher Education Innovation Forum of the 2026 Worldwide Educators Conference.
In his address, Mr. Yang noted that the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for the development of education issued by the Chinese government in June this year has charted a clear direction for high-level opening-up in education in the new stage. Drawing on CEAIE’s practical experience, he analyzed emerging trends and observed that fresh opportunities for cross-border education cooperation have been created by the evolving global landscape, the implementation of SDGs, the rapid iteration of digital technologies, and the transformation of university organizational models. He noted that cross-border cooperation in higher education displays distinctive features. Forms of exchange and mobility have become increasingly diverse, the core role of talent cultivation and research collaboration has continued to grow in prominence, and the adjustment of international governance systems has kept accelerating. Meanwhile, cooperation models continue to be innovated, giving rise to a variety of new forms of collaboration in areas such as student mobility, cross-border education services, virtual academic exchanges, and transnational university-enterprise cooperation.
Mr. Yang stated that the scope of cross-border cooperation in higher education has now expanded to encompass comprehensive, deep-level integration across curricula, teaching, research, management, and even cultural identity. CEAIE stands ready to work with its global partners to jointly explore new avenues for external cooperation, innovate new approaches to resource introduction, build new platforms for mutual benefit, and tap into new dimensions of people-to-people exchanges so as to promote high-quality development of cross-border cooperation in higher education.
Supported by relevant organizations, the forum was co-hosted by Worldwide Educators Conference Organizing Committee and Private Institutions Alliance for Global Education. About 400 participants from China and overseas attended the event.
