This issue of the Young Envoys Scholarship (YES) Newsletter highlights six featured exchange activities held in China in April 2026. Nearly 300 teachers and students from the United States and Europe visited Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Guizhou, and other destinations. Through music and sports activities, academic exchanges, hands-on learning, and industry visits, participants deepened mutual understanding while experiencing China’s achievements in scientific innovation and social development.
Cultural and sports exchanges strengthened friendship. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Ping-Pong Diplomacy, the Chinese and international youth came together alongside eyewitnesses of this historic chapter to revisit its legacy. Friendly table tennis matches, together with pickleball competitions and Tai Chi sessions, fostered friendship and mutual understanding through sports.
Academic exchanges promoted mutual learning. Participants engaged in lectures and discussions on frontier topics, including artificial intelligence and robotics, exchanging ideas, broadening academic perspectives, and deepening professional understanding.
Cultural immersion showcased the richness of Chinese civilization. Through hands-on experiences in traditional crafts and visits to historic cities, cultural villages, and museums, participants gained a deeper appreciation of China’s rich cultural heritage.
Industry visits highlighted China’s innovation ecosystem. Participants visited university laboratories, robotics R&D and training platforms, and cross-border e-commerce livestreaming centers, where they experienced humanoid robot operation and digital commerce firsthand, gaining insight into China’s advances in technological innovation and the digital economy.
