CEAIE Deputy Secretary General WANG Luxin Leads China University Delegation to Attend NAFSA 2025 in the U.S.

From May 25 to 30, Mr. WANG Luxin, Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), led a delegation of Chinese universities to attend 2025 NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo in San Diego, U.S. Renmin University of China, Beijing Jiaotong University, and 17 other institutions formed Study in China national pavilion.



On the afternoon of May 28 the session The New Geography of Opportunity for Partnership in China, organized by CEAIE, was held with a success at NAFSA 2025. CEAIE Deputy Secretary General Mr. WANG Luxin, and Counselor of Chinese Embassy in the U.S. Mr. ZHANG Yun delivered keynote speeches. Mr. WANG Luxin provided an overview of the development of educational exchange and cooperation in key regions of China, shared policies, trends and latest initiatives in promoting Study in China, youth exchanges, vocational education collaboration, and digital education development. Mr. ZHANG Yun highlighted the new progress and achievements in China-U.S. educational exchanges since 2024, analyzed the current challenges and difficulties in bilateral cooperation, and presented China’s key initiatives and programs in advancing high-quality opening-up in education in the next phase.



During the visit, Mr. WANG Luxin held meetings with representatives from various international education institutions, including NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Inter-American Organization for Higher Education, Korean National Institute for International Education, the University Grants Committee (UGC) of Hong Kong, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and California State University. These discussions aimed to strengthen ties and collaboration between CEAIE and global education organizations. Key topics included promoting student mobility, institutional partnerships, and youth exchanges.



Representatives from the delegation proactively established high-efficiency connections with international counterparts by  participating in various exchange events and engaging in over 500 business discussions with educational organizations and institutions from more than 40 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Korea, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. Key preliminary cooperation agreements were reached in specialized areas such as Study in China programs, talent cultivation, and long/short-term exchange initiatives.



Themed as Purpose, Place, and Partnership, NAFSA 2025 featured over 100 diverse events including plenary sessions, keynote speeches, seminars, workshops, poster exhibitions, interest group meetings, and campus tours. It attracted more than 300 exhibitors representing nearly 50 countries and regions, along with approximately 8,000 educators from over 100 countries and regions worldwide attending the conference.
