On July 10, Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), met with Professor Amalia Di lorio, Pro Vice-Chancellor of La Trobe University of Australia. The two sides held cordial and in-depth discussions on strengthening cooperation in high-level talent cultivation.
Fu Bo reviewed the history of cooperation between CEAIE and Australia’s higher education sector, and thanked La Trobe University for its active participation in the China-Victoria University Dialogue organised by CEAIE and in Melbourne last year. She expressed the hope that the university would take part in the upcoming Australia-China University Leaders Dialogue and the Australia-China Early-Career Researcher Fellows Programme (ECR Programme), both organised by CEAIE, to further promote bilateral research cooperation and information exchange. She also extended a warm invitation to La Trobe University to attend the 26th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE).
Professor Di Lorio highlighted La Trobe University’s longstanding collaboration with Chinese institutions and was grateful for Fu Bo’s constructive suggestions on enhancing partnerships with Chinese counterparts. She expressed appreciation and support for initiatives such as the ECR Programme and willingness to deepen collaboration with Chinese universities through more diverse and substantive partnerships.
The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing student and teacher mobility, joint cultivation of high-level talent, and the development of China-Australian joint-venture programmes.
