The standards are defined from five dimensions, with 12 first-level indicators, 49 secondary indicators and 151 observation points. Personalized indicators can be added to the standards by the two parties of accreditation in accordance with specific needs while maintaining the overall framework.


Mission and Purposes

Defining appropriate mission and purposes that lead to aspired educational outcomes. First-level indicators include mission, objectives and professional ethics.


Resource Allocation and Utilization

Allocating and utilizing resources properly to achieve educational outcomes. First-level indicators include faculty and staff, facilities, assets and financial management.


Teaching-Learning

Achieving educational outcomes through teaching-learning activities and services. First-level indicators include curriculum and teaching, academic and creative activities, and admission and student services.


Governance and Internal Quality Assurance

Ensuring sustainable development through effective governance and internal quality assurance. First-level indicators include organization and administration, as well as internal quality assurance.


Public Relations and Social Integrity

Building solid and sound public relations and integrity through active cooperation. First-level indicators include peer cooperation, public relations and social integrity.

 
The Standards for Accreditation emphasize the achievement of educational outcomes, the optimization of resource allocation, the implementation of core functions as well as coordinated development and continuous improvement of the institutions. The standards conform to international practices, focus on the overall operation and function of the institutions/programs, stress learning outcomes and educational efficacy, and recognize the differences between Chinese and foreign education systems.
