Background:

In November 2023, President Xi Jinping announced that China will invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years during his visit to the United States, to promote the mutual understanding between young generations of China and the US.

In 2024, China launches the "Young Envoys Scholarship" (abbreviated as YES), with the implied meaning of "enhanced mutual understanding." The program will integrate quality resources from schools and universities across China with diversified academic courses and activities, to improve the experience of American students and provide high-quality platforms for the youth to visit and study in China. Programs include but are not limited to inter-school exchanges, short-term visits, international summer schools, summer (winter) camps, youth forums, etc. for obtaining degrees, credits or exchange experience.

China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) as the executive organization for YES, is responsible for the collection of resources for short-term study and exchanges, connection with domestic and foreign organizations and the promotion of programs.

Programs

In order to connect international students with more Chinese programs and institutions, CEAIE collects International Summer School Programs offered by Chinese universities. Meanwhile CEAIE also provides the flagship program "Zhi-Xing China Fellowships" for American fellows to join.
