Mr. Zhao Lingshan, Vice President and Secretary-General of CEAIE, met the visiting delegation led by Mr. Matt Burney, the new Minister (Culture and Education) of British Embassy Beijing and Director of British Council China in Beijing, on 16 September, 2019.
Mr. Zhao and Mr. Burney reviewed the long-term and stable course of cooperation between CEAIE and British Council. Both sides recognized the achievements that had been made in promoting personnel exchange and concrete cooperation between China and the UK in primary, higher and vocational education, etc, and acknowledged the crucial contribution made by the two organizations to upholding healthy and stable development of bilateral relations and enhancing the well-being of the two peoples.
Looking into the future, with shared goals of promoting China-UK educational development and boosting connectivity between peoples, it was agreed that both sides would continue to expand and deepen cooperation in areas of student and teacher exchange, vocational education and training, quality assurance of Chinese-foreign cooperative education, EMI and teaching competency enhancement, etc. New multilateral educational exchanges and cooperation programs were also discussed.
Representatives of relevant departments in both British Council and CEAIE were also present at the meeting.
