Closing Ceremony of IUA CEAIE Summer School Held in Beijing

IUA CEAIE Summer School, jointly organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and Irish Universities Association (IUA), had been successfully completed in Beijing on 24th August, 2018. This program was officially announced by Simon Coveney, the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland during his visit to China in March 2018. It aims to provide study and internship opportunities for Irish students, in favor of bringing young people from both countries closer together, enhancing mutual trust and paving the way for lasting friendship and partnership. 8 Irish college students spent first 3 weeks of the program studying Chinese, culture and business in Beijing Normal University, and interning in companies in Beijing for the rest 5 weeks. 

Tim Harrington, the Acting Ambassador of the Embassy of Ireland made an address at the closing ceremony. He spoke highly of the program on promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Ireland. Ms. Xiao Lei, Director of Office of China Education Opportunities of CEAIE, Ms. Ru Shuyuan, Vice Dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture and Mr. Cui Xuegang, Associate Dean of Business School from Beijing Normal University made speeches and conferred certificates of completion of the program. The Irish students also shared their experiences of study and internship and expressed their wishes to come back for further study and career development.
