Sino-Dutch Higher Education Seminar held in The Hague

EP-Nuffic Director-general Freddy Weima delivers welcome speech at the Seminar

On December 2nd , 2016, the Sino-Dutch Higher Education Seminar was held in The Hague. The event was co-hosted by EP-Nuffic and the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). Around thirty representatives from seven Chinese universities and six Dutch universities participated in the Seminar.

CEAIE Deputy Secretary General Mme. Zhou Yan, EP-Nuffic Director-general Freddy Weima and Meng Qingyu, Head of the Educational Section of Chinese Embassy to the Netherland, addressed the seminar, expressing high expectations on wider and deeper collaboration in the higher education sector between the two countries.

Dutch Student Mike Enting shares his study in China experience

Prof. Sibrand Poppema, President of the University of Groningen, Prof. Wang Ge, Vice President of University of Science and Technology Beijing and Prof. Jan Eijkel, MESA, Institute for Nanotechnology, University of Twente made keynote presentations on latest developments of higher education sector in the two countries. Discussion was focused on joint research collaboration, followed by a one-on-one networking session.

After the seminar, the Chinese delegation visited TU Delft and attended a roundtable on outgoing mobility.

The Seminar built further mutual understanding and explored opportunities for institutional partnerships.
