Born in Changchun, Jilin Province in April 1954, Mr. Shao Wei gained his Doctor's Degree in Law at the School of International Studies, Peking University.
Mr. Shao has been working in different capacities since 1974. He taught Library Science as a Lecturer in Peking University, and served as Secretary of the Secretariat of the General Office, Deputy Director of the Radio and TV Education Office of the Department of Educational Technology and Deputy Director of the Administrative Office of the Department of Students Abroad at then State Education Commission. He worked as First Secretary of the Education Section at the Chinese Embassy to Japan between 1993 and 1996 before becoming Director of Executive Office of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Ministry of Education. Mr. Shao successfully initiated many projects from 2000 to 2008 as Deputy Director-General of the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange and served as the Counselor of the Education Section at the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco since 2008. Mr. Shao was officially appointed the Acting Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) in July 2012.
Mr. Shao’s publications include The Introduction to Library Science(co-author, Literary Bibliography Press), Modern Study Abroad and Chinese Strategies for Study Abroad in the 21st Century, and a number of related papers.

Ms. Yang has been an assistant professor and lecturer at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. She has worked in the Education Office, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Washington DC, Third and Second Secretary in mid 1980’s and early 1990’s responsible for US-China education exchange programs.
Since October 2000, Ms. Yang has been Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). Prior to that, she was Special Assistant to the President, Chinese Service Center for Students Exchange, New York Branch; and Director of the Division of European Affairs, Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education, the People’s Republic of China. Ms. Yang Meng holds a Master of Science from Cornell University, New York,USA and a Bachelor of Arts from University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. She studied in the Faculty of Arts and Science, at Queen’s University, Kingston Ont. Canada, for two years on the Student Exchange Agreement between Governments of China and Canada.

Deputy Secretary-General: |
Mr Lin Zuoping graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and gained his Master's Degree in education at Hiroshima University. He used to teach at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, then worked at the Bureau of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Education, PRC. After that, he was appointed First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Japan. Mr Lin is currently the Standing Committee Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and Council member of the Chinese Society of Technical and Vocational Education (CSTVE).

Mr. Zong Wa holds extensive knowledge and experience in the field of international education. He obtained his Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1985. From August 1997 to May 1999, he did postgraduate studies on education leadership and administration, and gained the Master Degree at New York University as a Fulbright scholar, and gained his Master of Education. Mr. Zong Wa worked at the Foreign Affairs Department of Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China from 1985 to 1994. He was assigned to work at the Education Office of Chinese Embassy in Canada as Third Secretary from 1988 to 1991. He joined China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) in January 1995. Since then he had been Deputy Director of External Liaison Office, then Director of China Center for International Education Exchange, and Director of Department of Cooperation Projects of CEAIE. Mr. Zong Wa is currently Deputy Secretary of CEAIE, and Secretary General of Chinese Fulbright Alumni Association. |
