Closing Ceremony of IUA CEAIE Summer School 2019 Held Successfully at CEAIE

The closing ceremony of IUA CEAIE Summer School 2019 was successfully held in China Education Association for International Exchange (ie. CEAIE) on 23rd August, 2019. Ms. Shen Xuesong, Deputy Secretary General of CEAIE. In her closing remarks, she congratulated the students on their completion of program, encouraged them to conquer difficulties in study and career and play an active role in strengthening the friendship between China and Ireland.

The Irish students shared experiences of study, internship and life in Beijing, China. They believed their future career would benefit a lot from the program and expected to go back to China for further study or job opportunity. Ms. Xiao Lei, Director of Office of China Education Opportunities of CEAIE, Ms. Lavina Collins, First Secretary from Embassy or Ireland, Mr. Yang Jie, Education Advisor from Enterprise Ireland, Ms. Li Fenglin, Dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture of Beijing Normal University, Mr. Huang Guanyu, Marketing Manager of University College Dublin China Global Centre, Ms. Liu Xian, Media and International Cooperation Officer of Taihe Institute attended the closing ceremony.

IUA CEAIE Summer School Program was officially announced by Simon Coveney, the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland during his visit to China in March 2018. It is aimed to provide study and internship opportunities for Irish students, in favor of bringing young people from both of countries closer together, enhancing mutual trust and paving the way for lasting connections and partnership. In 2019, 10 Irish college students participated in the program, spent first 3 weeks studying Chinese, culture and business in Beijing Normal University, and the rest 5 weeks interning in companies in Beijing.
