On 22th November, the Fifth Board Meeting of Volunteer Committee for Intercultural Education of China Education Association for International Exchange (CVCIE) was held in Chengdu. The meeting was presided over by YANG Meng, board chair of the committee. ZHANG Ling, Vice Chair, SUN Dongqian, Deputy Secretary General, Li Shoumin, Chief of Hebei Education Department International Office, YANG Zhen, Deputy General Secretary of Changzhou Education Association for International Exchange, YU Jia, Chief of Jiamusi Foreign Affairs Bureau attended the meeting.
Based on the work priorities and the development plan for the next three years formulated in the previous year, this meeting summarized the development of projects this year and briefed on the AFS International World Congress which was held in October 2017. During the meeting, the Board members focused their discussions on the country and regional development aiming at the internationalization of regional education. CVCIE planned to build a platform in the future and actively promote people to people exchange through the precise cooperation at multiple levels and in various fields in order to help the region develop with a unique landscape of international education. At the same time, the meeting also elected YU Jia, Chief of Jiamusi Foreign Affairs Bureau, and ZHONG Mingjin, Secretary General of Guangdong Education Association of International Exchange as two additional board members.
