On October 9, 2017, President Liu Limin met with Mr. Nenad Popovic, Minister for Innovation and Technological Development, Mr. Milan Bacevic, Ambassador of Serbia to China, and other delegates from the Republic of Serbia.
Liu Limin welcomed the delegation and expressed great thanks to the support of Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the city government of Novi Sad and University of Novi Sad during the event of the Fourth Meeting of China-CEECs Higher Education Institutions Consortium held in Serbia this September. President Liu pointed out that education advancement increasingly benefits from the digital transformation; and reversely technological innovation relies on the human resources development from higher education institutions to meet the needs of mass entrepreneurship and innovation initiated by the Chinese government. Minister Nenad Popovic expressed that except for the traditional steel and infrastructure industries in Serbia, the government is also promoting the technological development through innovation committee to set up a network among business and technology sectors. The Minister showed a strong interest to work together with CEAIE in the areas of engineering innovation, biotechnology, digital and information development in both countries. Both sides also exchanged views on the innovation development and science park, etc.
