2016 VELT Training in Canada Successfully Conducted

Sponsored by CEAIE and Colleges and Institutes Canada, 2016 VELT Training Delegation received training in Canada from Oct.30th to Nov.19th 2016.

The training was divided into 3 phases. Hosted by Centennial College in Toronto, the first week was the orientation week which focused on general knowledge of higher education system and colleges of applied arts and science in Canada. The delegation also visited the Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Toronto. In the second week, the delegation was divided into two groups and headed to Capilano University and Humber College respectively for in-depth learning on the operation and international development of specific Canadian institute. The last week was debriefing week at Douglas College in Vancouver. Mr. Paul Brennan, Vice President for International Cooperation of CICan, and Mr. Yu Changxue, Education Consul of Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Vancouver attended the debriefing meeting and listened to all the feedback from the trainees. With support of CICan and host institutes, two B2B meetings between Chinese and 13 Canadian colleges were held to facilitate partnership building.
