The 2016 Training Conference of Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT) Programs was held in Beijing from May 31st to June 1st. 2015 VELT participants to the UK and the US and 2016 VELT participants who are going to New Zealand, Ireland and Switzerland for the short-term study tours attended the conference. Selected representatives from 2015 VELT groups reported the outcomes of their study to the VELT Advisory Committee.
Mr. Qian Yicheng, Vice President of CEAIE, Mr. Zong Wa, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE and VELT Advisory Committee members gave lectures to 2016 participants on China’s latest policies of international cooperation in education as well as the TVET systems of destination countries, and provided guidance on how to maximize the outcomes of their overseas study.
The VELT Advisory Committee also convened a meeting during the conference, and discussed issues on how to collect the outcomes of VELT programs from 2008 to 2015 and how to further promote international collaboration for China’s TVET sector.
