Secretary-General Sheng Jianxue attended 2016 Chinese-Foreign (including partnerships between the Mainland and Hong Kong) Cooperative University Presidents Forum

At the invitation of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Mr. Sheng Jianxue, Secretary-General of CEAIE attended 2016 Chinese-Foreign (including partnerships between the Mainland and Hong Kong) Cooperative University Presidents Forum on April 15. This forum is themed with developments, opportunities and challenges of Chinese-foreign cooperative universities. Topics including staff capacity building, international education based on Chinese culture, the role of Chinese-foreign cooperative universities in developing high-level universities and promoting local economic and social development were discussed. 

Hao Ping, Vice Minister of Education attended the forum and gave opening address. Xu Tao, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, MOE, Du Yue, Secretary-General of China National Committee for UNESCO, Sun Jianming, Director-General of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Luo Weiqi, Director-General of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Xing Feng, Deputy Director-General of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Wu Yihuan, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Guo Yurong, Director of Shenzhen Education Bureau, and Deputy District Head of Shenzhen Longgang District were also present. 

By far, members of Sino-Foreign Cooperative University Union include the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Xi’an Jiaotong-liverpool University, NYU Shanghai, Duke Kunshan University, Wenzhou-Kean University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. Representatives from Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (under establishment) and Shenzhen BIT-MSU University (under establishment), as well as other universities also attended the forum.
