On June 23, 2015, CEAIE Secretary General Sheng Jianxue and AACC Board of Directors Chair Kenneth Atwater signed a new Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the two organizations. Under this MOU, CEAIE and AACC agree to push forward collaboration in higher vocational education sector to advance course and curriculum development, student and faculty exchanges, lifelong learning and so on. The two organizations also plan to co-host US-China Community/ Vocational College Presidents’ Dialogues at AACC annual convention and China Annual Conference for International Education respectively. The Dialogue will serve as a high-level communication platform for Chinese higher vocational colleges and US community colleges.
The signing of the MOU is listed as an outcome of the Sixth round of China-US Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) which was held in Washington DC. Vice Minister of Education of China Hao Ping and US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Richard Stengel witnessed the signing.
